Royal FloraHolland awards Heijmans long-term maintenance contract

28 February 2024, 18:25

Royal FloraHolland (RFH) has chosen Heijmans as its new long-term partner for Hard Services. Once the six-year maintenance contract has been signed, Heijmans will use its expertise for the technical maintenance and management of the grounds, buildings and technical installations of three RFH locations in Aalsmeer, Rijnsburg and Naaldwijk. As part of the service provision, the employees currently providing maintenance and management will legally transfer to Heijmans. The maintenance contract has a value of around € 15 million per year. In total, the built-up area to be managed amounts to 1.8 million square metres.

Cooperation

RFH sees Heijmans as a cooperation partner with a culture that matches its own, a partner that can help it achieve its sustainability ambitions, provide added value and keeps costs under control.

Current employees

To connect with RFH and guarantee service delivery, Heijmans will organise its own operations as closely as possible to the three RFH locations. Heijmans is setting up a separate entity for the RFH organisation. An important part of this new agreement will be the current staff (around 80 employees), who will transfer to this new company. Heijmans will go through a thorough process with consideration for the employees, to ensure these skilled people are given a warm welcome. The Heijmans Works Council is also involved in this process.

Contract

The contract starts May 1st 2024, initially runs for six years and can then be extended annually by mutual agreement.
